Comprising Nine Folders and Numerous Diagrams.

Manuscript is an archive of the research that lead to the Procession of Contraceptive Plants and Forgotten Midwives at Middelheim Museum in June 2023.

The work consists of over a thousand parts: documents, diagrams, recipes, narratives, hysteries, errorpoems, duets across the Atlantic, working drawings for banners, patterns for pockets, the Company Letters, three volumes of the Fieldguides, and the Herball for a Midwife – containing dried plants and seeds of those plants that women in the Low Lands have used through the centuries to control their fertility.

It is held in nine hand-stitched woollen folders, in a suitcase, and is in the collection of the Middelheim Museum, Antwerp. It is intended as a travelling archive that can be borrowed and lead to other processions and performances that contribute to the transmission of ancient and contemporary knowledge of plants used by women.
