WENDY MORRIS

Collaboration / Lab of Experimental Psychology / 2019

The exhibition, This, of course, is a work of the Imagination, ran for four months at MuZee in Ostend in 2017. During that time a team of researchers from the Lab of Experimental Psychology, KU Leuven, set out to explore the responses of visitors to the exhibition given different conditions in encountering the exhibition. The translated title of the project is ‘Influence of expertise and contextual information on the art experience in the multimedia installation exhibition This, of course, is a work of the Imagination of Wendy Morris’. It was a Master of Science in Psychology project of Vincent Janssens and Nelke Jorissen, promoters Johan Wagemans and Nathalie Vissers. See project below.

In the summer of 2018 Johan Wagemans, professor of experimental psychology and instigator of this research project, and I presented elements of the findings to the 6th Visual Science of Arts Conference in Trieste.
